Enablence adds 10G transmission to BroadAccess product line

Ottawa, Canada – November 11, 2010 Enablence Technologies Inc. (“Enablence” or the “Company”) (TSX-V:ENA), a leading supplier of fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) equipment for triple-play residential and business servicesand optical components and subsystems for access, metro and long-haul markets, has released a new 10GigE IPswitch and transmission module for its Multi Services Access Gateway (MSAG) platforms that allows serviceproviders to upgrade their access networks to 10 Gbps.

The new IP switch module allows service providers and network operators using Enablence’s BroadAccess-1000E and 300E MSAG platforms to easily and economically upgrade their existing network architecture to 10G.Operators gain increased bandwidth capacity to handle the traffic demands created by the adoption of multiservicepackages that include ultra-fast Internet, HD/IP TV and advanced voice.

Key features include:

  • A high capacity Nx10GigE network interface
  • Support of resilient 10Gbps Ethernet ring transmission
  • Advanced VoIP Gateway functionality
  • Circuit Emulation over Ethernet support

Enablence’s BroadAccess product line was acquired as part of the April 2010 merger with Teledata Networks. The BroadAccess is an advanced 400Gb/s broadband platform, which provides wireline service providers with anoptimal solution for delivery of advanced multi-play and business services over copper and fiber, and enables asmooth migration to Next Generation Networks and FTTx network architectures. It supports the applications of anIP-DSLAM, a VoIP Access-Gateway, an Ethernet Access switch and a GPON OLT.

“Our new switch is the superior choice for international customers who want to maximize the useful life of theirexisting copper networks and have the option to evolve to a next-generation fiber architecture,” said Eran Ziv,President of Enablence’s International Systems Division. “With these 10G transmission capabilities, ourBroadAccess architecture provides a high level of performance and resiliency that our competitors cannot matchwithout requiring their customers to invest in additional external equipment.”
